About Course

In this course, we aim to provide a strong foundation in mathematical concepts to students. Here’s what students will learn:

  • Understanding the number system, including irrational and real numbers
  • Polynomials, their factorisation, and algebraic identities
  • Coordinate geometry and the Cartesian system
  • Solving linear equations in two variables
  • Introduction to Euclid’s geometry and its definitions, axioms, and postulates
  • Understanding lines, angles, and triangles, their congruence criteria, and properties
  • Properties of quadrilaterals and circles
  • Applying Heron’s formula to find the area of a triangle
  • Calculating surface areas and volumes of 3D shapes
  • Representing data graphically using statistical techniques

To make learning more engaging and effective, we have incorporated the following features in our course:

  • Challenger assignments that challenge students to apply the concepts learned to real-life situations
  • Mind-maps that help students visualise and organise the concepts covered
  • Chapter summaries that provide a quick revision of the important topics covered
  • Gamified content that makes learning fun and interactive

For example, we will present the students with a challenge to design a roof that is shaped like an isosceles triangle and has a given area. They will need to use their understanding of the properties of triangles to calculate the dimensions of the triangle and then use their knowledge of surface area and volume to optimise the design.

To make it even more engaging, we will turn it into a competition and have the students compete against each other to see who can come up with the most efficient design. This will not only gamify the content but also provide a real-world application of the concepts learned in the chapter on triangles.

By joining this course, students will not only improve their understanding of mathematics but also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will be useful in all areas of life.
