Grade 12 – Maths
About Course
This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts of mathematics. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical examples, students will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. By the end of the course, students will be able to:
What students will learn:
- Understand the concepts of relations and functions, and their applications in real-life situations.
- Learn about inverse trigonometric functions, matrices, and determinants, and how to solve problems using these concepts.
- Understand the concepts of continuity and differentiability, and their applications in solving problems related to limits and derivatives.
- Learn about the applications of derivatives in solving real-life problems related to optimisation.
- Understand the concepts of integrals and their applications in solving problems related to area, volume, and work done.
- Learn about differential equations, their solutions, and their applications in solving real-life problems.
- Understand the concepts of vector algebra and three-dimensional geometry and their applications in solving problems related to physics.
- Learn about linear programming and its applications in optimisation problems.
- Understand the concept of probability, different types of events, and their applications.
For example, in the chapter on “Application of Derivatives,” students will learn about optimization problems, and how to find the maximum or minimum values of a function using the first and second derivatives. They will also learn about the concept of inflection points and how to use them to sketch the graph of a function. In a gamified activity, students will optimize a company’s production process by finding the optimal number of workers and machines required to produce a given number of products within a given time frame. Additionally, a real-life example of the application of derivatives will be the design of roller coasters, where engineers use the principles of calculus to ensure the safety and excitement of riders.
By the end of the course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of the basic principles of mathematics and be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue further studies in the field. Enrol now to start your journey towards becoming a skilled mathematician!
